When a couple trust you to make frames for their college diplomas, you actually do measure everything twice! I started with mahogany and maple and ended with 2 identical frames.
I met Melissa and Joe at one of our Jefferson Manor neighborhood events where I told them about my small woodworking shop. They reached out to me a month of so after to discuss framing their diplomas .
I’m so happy that I chose mahogany and maple, I love how the woods really go with the Auburn color scheme and I’m especially happy of the dentil work. Maple burns easily, I used a new Freud Thin Kerf blade with a zero clearance insert. I also used my Incra ibox in new ways, not for making boxes but for dentil molding work.
It all came together and wow.
mahogany and maple low profile cove enough for 2 cutting a dado on router table cutting maple strips maple strips fits snugly in dado 45 degrees maple for dentil work using the incra ibox minimum thickness for jig cut down the middle may I never sand again attach to frame finish with mahogany cut to size the cove bit router table using thicknesser to get same width more miters
