I built this for a friend who wanted to get his family’s shoes under control. He gave me the needed dimensions and that he needed it to set flush to the wall with a notch for the floor molding.
I considered the space and the activities of the family (they hike, cycle and spend quality time outdoors) So I picked up some nice eastern cedar. I love cedar and it was perfect for this project. I cut dado’s for the shelves and did a simple glue up, no finish just a nice sanding and simple 1/8 round over. A simple design but very unique.
cedar boards jointed with track saw both sides gluing up (no glue in center) internal shelves glueing up frame with strap clamp (note the dado’s) Internal shelves slide in and glued yay!
